What is a Woman?

“99.9% of women …do not have a penis” Keir Starmer 2022

When Ed Davey was asked if women could have a penis in an LBC radio interview in 2023 he replied “ well, quite clearly”

"Trans women ARE women” Zac Polanski 2025

Why have so many politician’s subscribed to the “feelings trounces biology” mantra of trans activists? Any politician that can lie about the definition of a woman can lie about anything and cannot be trusted.

The difference in anatomy between a male and female matters in medicine, it matters in sport, it matters in statistical analysis used in demography and insurance, it matters where women need protection from male strength and physical dominance in refuges and prisons and yes, public toilets.

I am a child of the 60s and70s and come from Chelsea in London. Throughout my youth you would see men dressed as women, think Bowie, Marc Bolan, Quentin Crisp, Eddie Mercury, Alice Cooper. They were all gloriously feminine in so many ways but there is a difference between those early pioneers and the trans women of today. They all KNEW they were men. They didn’t deny it or insist on being addressed as Miss. There was a freedom in being the person that you want to be but still acknowledging your sex. There was a live and let live attitude that did not step on anyone else’s rights. In fact they were all firm supporters of women’s rights. The attitude today that a woman is some stereotypical caricature of femininity is so regressive. It means that you are supposed to fit into a particular box or find yourself on a spectrum which will indicate your “gender identity”. Why can’t you just BE?

Sport, in particular is an issue. A trans person may think they have been “born in the wrong body”, but it is with your body that you compete in sport much more than the mind. A male born competitor will have bigger muscles, bigger hands and feet (relevant in swimming), longer limbs, a different shaped pelvis (relevant in cycling) irrespective of how many testosterone suppressing drugs they take. It is dangerous to allow them to compete against women, where one blow from a man on the rugby pitch or in the boxing ring could easily maim or kill a woman. This isn’t a trivial issue. The web site hecheated.org has reported that on over 17,334 occasions a man competing as a woman has stolen the prize of a female competitor.

And yet women are being asked to “accommodate” these men in their spaces. The aggression and gaslighting towards women who object is straight forwarded misogyny yet so many in the public sphere seem to think this is acceptable.

The other serious worry is the chemical and surgical experimentation on children. This should never be allowed and certainly not on the NHS which was set up to help the sick not the deluded. Children should be protected from this dangerous ideology.

This is a first world problem. The women of Afghanistan and Iran do not have the luxury of choosing their gender and no male would want the life a woman has in these circumstances. Your gender is not something you can put on like a new coat when it suits. It is real and universal. Women, and men, are dying to defend the human rights of women in these countries. Shame on those who think that “being kind” is better than being honest.

But then, if you are reading this you already agree.
